Tonette Gatus - Executive Director

Tonette was a former Senior Assistant Dance Director of the world renowned Bayanihan Philippine Dance Company. With 17 years of residency with the company, she started as a trainee at the tender age of 16 and after undergoing series of auditions became a performing trainee and finally moving up to the aspired role of performing member.

Through the years, Tonette has actively undertook various roles: as one of the principal dancers, researcher, dance trainor, project coordinator and senior dance assistant.

She has shown her dancing progress through the years and has been in a number of tours (World Tour 83-84; European and Asian tours and local). After her Bayanihan days, she travelled with different groups; UP Singing Ambassadors, UP Madrigals; Philippine Convention and Visitors Corp (PCVC) and Department of Tourism.

When she and her family migrated to Canada, she started a dance group comprising of Fil-Canadian teens. She is the founder of the Philippine Cultural Arts Society of BC, formerly known as LAHI, back in 1998.

At present, she is the Executive Director of the society and the Artistic and Dance Director of the group.
